Field C Gets a Makeover

For the second time in two years one of the fields at Palma Ceia Little League will receive a much needed facelift and be ready for Opening Day Spring 2018.

Palma Ceia Little League is an organization completely run by volunteers and every penny is reinvested back into the league. This exciting project is possible through the generous donations from sponsors and fundraising (like the league's annual the Grand Slam event).

Here is a sampling of what Field C will see over the next few weeks:

All infield and the grass up to 10 feet out into the outfield will be removed. Removing the outfield grass greatly improves the transition into the outfield. This decreases the chance that a sharply hit ball will bounce unpredictably and helps with safety.
Home plate and all of the the infield clay will be regraded to help with drainage. This is especially important during the Spring season as we typically get more rain than in the fall.
The infield will be flattened where grass was removed to create a smooth playing surface and new Bermuda sod will be installed.

These upgrades are a huge welcome to improve the playing conditions at the park.
